How Do Fears Block Success

Fear Maryann Williamson is famous for her quote, "Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us."

It's a fact and I see it all the time in working with my business coaching clients. Sometimes we all need a little assistance in reaching our greatest goals.

How do you know if fear is blocking your success?

Watch for these signs:

There will be things you can do that would help drive your success forward, but you hesitate and don't do those things, even though you know that it will be a big benefit to you.

There will be things you MUST do or else there will be consequences. You respond by procrastinating and not doing them.

There will be times you have to step up to lead. You don't listen to the call. Instead, you bury your head instead of responding. The end result is nothing occurs.

How do you turn the tide?

One word, "Awareness."

You must be aware of your patterns and "catch" yourself in the act of self sabotage.

Once you're aware of your actions, you can intentionally reverse the tide.

Through awareness you have the opportunity to decide to take new actions. Instead of procrastinating out of fear, you act in spite of those fears to achieve a result you desire.

When you do that, the heavy feeling in your body lifts. You feel hopeful and energized. You feel ready to continue to lead instead of blending in to a mediocore pack.

The problem is, building that awareness and acting in spite of your fears can be difficult to achieve on your own.

You can choose one of three ways to move forward:

1. Business Coaching

2. Peer based supportive masterminding

3. Personal self discipline

Of those 3 options, coaching has a statistical success rate of 88%.
