You're Getting Better Every Day

Ist2_3621019_morning_sun As a small business owner or dedicated entrepreneur, sometimes it may not seem like it, but rest assured, every day, through every action, every step and every outcome you experience you are getting better and better.

I'm talking about every experience in any area, whether it is sales, marketing, product development, service delivery, client relationship management (CRM) or employee/vendor relationships, the act of simply doing makes you better than you were the previous day.

Being aware of this fact is step # 1. And now we have taken it together.

Use this new found awareness to create the outcomes you desire starting on Monday.

Then simply remain aware of this simple, yet powerful fact and see what outcomes have developed by Friday.

What Business Energy are You Projecting?

Scotch 80110-JPG One thing we learn from pets, like cats and dogs, is that the energy we project to them gets mirrored back to us.

I know if I get excited about something, my dog Scotchy comes over to see what’s going on. The same result occurs with times that I’m in a calm state. When I’m calm, lo and behold, my dog is too.

The reason is, he experiences a change in my energy and responds to it. The energy he’s responding to is called “human subtle energy.”

You and I respond to human subtle energy in the exact same way.

Projected energy is one reason why you enjoy doing business with some people more than others or why you’ll trust one person over the other. Some people simply feel better than others.

In business, the energy you project can be the difference between a healthy business and one that struggles.

Let’s evaluate where the energy level is in your business.

It all starts with your personal awareness. How do you respond to these 4 questions:

1. What occurs throughout the course of every day?

2. How do you respond to those situations?

3. How does your day-to-day work make you feel?

4. How do you feel about your clients and potential clients?

Your responses to these questions will give you a very good idea about where your energy in business lies now.

Next, evaluate how you feel right now about the following 3 points:

1. Where you are in business. Are you where you want to be, or do you wish you were somewhere else every day?

2. What about your day-to-day activities? Are you productive and moving forward with your growth plans or are you stagnant, barely finding time to stay afloat, much less reach your true goals and deepest desires for your business?

3. When you work with people, what benefits do your clients tell you they experience? Do they often come back for more or do they typically purchase only once?

It doesn’t take specialized knowledge of human subtle energy to evaluate the energy of your business based on your answer to these 7 questions.

The fact is, if you’re feeling depleted, not motivated, not excited about adding value to the life of others through your work, your business energy is low.

When energy is low, sales are hard to come by; each client engagement is a chore that you can’t wait to end. You have a hard time getting started every work day.

When your energy is high, you’ll find that people want to do business with you so selling becomes a lot of fun.

You love your client interactions because you know you are adding value to the life of another person and that feels great on all levels, mentally, physically and emotionally.

The end result is that clients, just like our pets, can “read” energy and they respond accordingly.

High energy: people want to be around you and do business with you.

Low energy: people generally want to run the other way.

High or low. Which energy level are YOU in business?

Beat the Funk

IrritatedWomanWeb I’m sure it comes as no surprise when I say that occasionally (and sometimes more than occasionally) we all get into a funk and just can’t seem to break out.

Why does that happen?

The primary reason I found is that we accept it.

What I mean is you just allow yourself to be engulfed in the funk, feel hopeless and helpless and just wallow in it a bit.

It takes two things to beat those down times:

1) Awareness

2) Inner strength

Awareness means that you notice how you’re feeling and understand why you are feeling that way so that you are able to make the decision to no longer accept it.

Once you’re aware, there is one other thing you can do to unleash the power of your inner strength.

Most of the time, you’re feeling down because you are not taking action on something you realize is important.

If that’s the case, take action on it in spite of fears and doubts, and watch your mood lift. You’ll become more hopeful, which reverses low energy feelings.

What if you don’t know what action to take?

At that point I recommend isolating the problem you cannot solve, then turn to a book that provides solutions.

Notice that I go to a book instead of Web research. The reason is that a book will give you a more complete picture of actions you can take.

Go through the book and isolate the steps you can take.

Take one step.

Go back to the book and take another step.

Repeat this action until you have taken all of the steps you outlined.

As you take new action on old problems, the hopeful energy you project makes the next step even easier.

If you need help hire a trusted advisor to guide you.

But what about those times when you know what to do and just don’t do it?

Those are the times when fear is most likely at play.

And there’s only one way to beat fear. That is to do what successful people have done for decades.

The secret of highly successful people is to feel the fear and do it anyway.

Fear only exists because you allow it to stop you.

Sure, it’s uncomfortable to stretch yourself. But when you do you gain more power because you have increased your inner strength. That power translates into greater results.

And when you do not act in spite of fear, please realize that not creating the great life you are meant to live is a high price to pay for not wanting to experience discomfort.

This is another case where you can also hire a trusted advisor to guide you.
