The Power of Passion in Business
How to Feel Really Good Today

The Future Never Comes

IStock_000005154440XSmall How often have you put off doing something that would be beneficial to your life or small business?

Maybe it was starting a new coaching or training program. You justified waiting by thinking, “I’ll wait until ___ happens before I commit to it.”

Or perhaps it was waiting for a future time to read a helpful or inspiring book. “Once I get ____ done and my schedule is clear, then I’ll sit down and read this book.”

Of course there are many other examples. The point is that waiting for a future time to take action that can help you grow, learn, expand or change today hampers your progress in both business and in life.

“I know I really would find meditation beneficial to my health and well being but I just don’t have time to sit down and do it right now. But once ______ is done, then I’ll be able to meditate.”

You can also exchange the word “meditation” for the word “exercise.”

I put that one off for a while. Then I realized what I was doing and started a 45 minute a day exercise program. Guess what? I feel better both physically and mentally for having taken this important step.

Even things that are proven to enhance your health and well being are often put aside for a future time that never seems to come.

Instead of waiting, just for today, find one thing you’ve been putting off for a future time.

Get started with it. Block out 15 to 30 minutes and begin.

Then tomorrow do the same thing again. Set aside 15 to 30 minutes to take the next step.

Repeat until the accomplishment is achieved.

Realize that anything that is important in your life can be accomplished the same way.

For example, my friend Jeff Fagin is the leader of T. Harv Eker's group in Phoenix called the 2% Club.

Jeff asked everyone who is committed to achieving financial freedom in their life to read Harv’s excellent book, The Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, to prepare for an upcoming 2% Club Phoenix meeting.

I’m sure Jeff heard the members groaning when he hit the email send button. “I don’t have time to sit down and read this book. I’m really busy.”

So Jeff suggested setting 30 minutes aside each day to read the book. At the end of a couple weeks (or less) anyone can finish reading the book. Plus, it’s a great book so it’s enjoyable, educational and inspiring to read.

Anyone who follows Jeff’s recommendation benefits. Anyone who waits for a future time to come misses out.

When the future time for the meeting becomes the present moment those who didn’t read the book will miss a great educational experience from the Money Master, Jeff Fagin.

It’s like that with everything in your life and business.

When you wait for a future time to act that future time never seems to come. As a result, you miss out on a rich and rewarding experience you could have otherwise enjoyed and benefited from.

So the question is, what are you waiting for today that is keeping your from living a fuller and happier expression of your life in business?
