Why Has Anyone Ever Failed?
The Power of Passion in Business

What Should I Blog or Write About?

Once Upon a Time I have written quite a few articles on EZine Articles.com. Recently, they asked if I would be interested in being featured as one of their authors.

Of course I will. That’s the point of content, after all, to get noticed, right?

Here are the questions they asked and my reply to them.

Now, if you’re new to blogging and content marketing or if you haven't taken the plunge yet and know you should, these are the questions you could ask yourself to isolate what you should blog and create content about.

I gave you my answers under each question.

Go ahead and comment with your answers. Let other people know what you’re all about too.

1. What sets you apart from other Expert Authors?

I am passionate about helping people use their talent, knowledge and passion to create balance, satisfaction and profit with freedom in a life and business they can love. My content focuses on helping people see their business and life from a broader or different perspective.

2.What's your secret to article writing and marketing success?

The old Nike phrase says it best, “Just Do It”. Blogging, writing articles and creating content takes a commitment. Make that commitment and improve not only your marketing but your sales efforts as well.

3. How do you stay motivated to write articles?

I keep a notebook and track ideas in my database of topics as they come to me. Then I just look at my notes and database entries to create new articles. That way I don’t suffer from writer’s block like so many people do. The reason is, I have ideas to draw from and don’t have to “create from scratch.”

4. How do you decide what to write about?

I observe what happens around me in life and in business and take note of things I find interesting. I also jot down notes of interesting things people tell me along with ideas they inspire. And I write down inspiring thoughts and ideas as I read books, web sites, magazine articles and blog posts. Then I just follow my heart and write about things that inspire me that I find interesting.

5. How do you balance writing for quality and quantity?

I don’t ever focus on quantity. Articles have to connect with people or they don’t work. I just write what I feel inspired by and let the reader be the judge. Something’s connect better than others. I don't worry about it though. I write what feels good to me and put it out there for reader’s to benefit from and enjoy.

6. How has using EzineArticles affected your traffic?

I have an Alexa ranking for http://www.billgluth.com of about 700,000, which is quite a bit better than the average coach or independent professional. And I don’t do very much at all as far as SEO or pay per click. All traffic comes from articles, blogging and content marketing.

7. How does article marketing fit into your overall marketing plan?

Blogging, articles, interviews of experts and other content related marketing is my main marketing thrust. I use articles to help close sales by building trust and credibility with prospective clients. This has worked well for me for a number of years.

8. What EzineArticles tools do you find the most beneficial?

Tracking success rates is essential. The most helpful tool EZineArticles offers is the email stats I receive which tell me which articles are pulling best.

9. If you had to start over again, what would you change?

I would do more articles, recorded interviews, social media and eBooks quicker than I did when I first started and really focus on that effort.

10. What advice you would give newbie article marketers?

Listen to Nike. Just do it! Don’t worry about creating masterpiece articles. Just write what you feel, experience, enjoy and observe. Remember, the more you write the better you get. You can’t get good at article writing or content marketing by observing. You have to take action and create material consistently every week.

11. Anything else you'd like to share?

Of all the article sites, EZineArticles.com stands head and shoulders above the rest. I always recommend focusing on content that showcases your talent, knowledge and passion in 2010 and use it in your sales and marketing efforts consistently. You’ll reap the financial and PR benefits when you do.
