Focus and Controlling Life’s Outcomes

We have all heard it a 1,000 times at least. What you focus on will create your outcome.

The problem is, there is one important piece to the puzzle missing that no one ever tells you.

That “Secret” is you have to take action on the inspiration you receive when you focus on a result you desire.

Here’s how to solve any problem you will ever face

Identify the problem.

Look at all the options available to you to overcome the challenge.

Select the one that stands out to you personally and “feels” right.

Take action to use that solution to solve the problem.

Doing nothing or wishing that things will get better does not work for one simple reason. We live in a world governed by the Laws of Physics. Action creates reaction.

Action is energy. Use yours to focus and control life’s outcomes every day.

Your Focus Controls Outcomes

Everyone has this amazing power inside of them called the subconscious mind. It is so simple that it appears hard. Here’s how it works.

First decide on what you want to accomplish consciously and then let the subconscious mind deliver it. There’s one small problem though.

Many times you may keep your conscious mind engaged and never give the subconscious mind a chance to do its work. That’s because you are focused on the outcome and not allowing the result to come through. The subconscious mind knows what to do at all times.

The only time it doesn’t work is when you consciously try to direct the activity.

Try it for yourself. The next time you go on a sales meeting try this exercise.

Understand what you want to see happen and then let it go.

At the appointment, don’t worry about the outcome. Simply follow you “gut instincts” or feelings.

Follow where they take you and see the result. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how easy the subconscious mind makes everything and how difficult life can be when you focus on what you “need” to do.

Revisiting Manuel

Manuel_de_la_torre

A while back I made a post about legendary golf teacher Manuel de la Torre.

Recently, I heard from Ed LeBeau, the photographer who took this image. He definitely agreed with me on Manuel's instruction and asked that I  let people know he took the photo.

As a former ad photographer and VP Creative in the Stock Photo Industry, I am happy to let people know, Ed. Nice shot!

Be sure to visit Ed's Web site as well at http://www.heartlandgolfschools.com.

AND, Ed, I hope to get out there one of these days and shave a few more strokes off of my game! Sounds like a great school.

Here's Manuel's story once again:

After taking to heart my golf lesson from golf icon Manuel de la Torre I'm happy to report that the ideas he gave me in a 45 minute lesson shaved SIX strokes off of my game.

WOW! (That's a lot if you're not familiar with golf).

Why?

Because I remembered the "story" he told me during the lesson and was better able to relate that to my game on the course.

Well, now we know why Mr. de la Torre is a top name in golf instruction.

If you play golf I also highly recommend his book called Understanding the Golf Swing. Great ideas and lessons on every page.
